What Is The Home Builders Compensation Fund?

The HBCF is a level of extra insurance provided to the homeowner. It protects them from incomplete or defective building work carried out by a builder or tradesperson. Licensed contractors that take on residential work over $20,000 must provide insurance coverage through HBCF.

Proof of HBCF insurance must be given to your customer before starting work or asking for any payment or deposit. Failing to take out HBCF insurance for eligible works is an offence under NSW law. Not all tradespeople or businesses are eligible to provide this insurance. 2go2guys are approved to provide HBCF insurance.
